We appreciate that Health and Safety is a top priority when working in any commercial environment. All of our workforce are CSCS trained and NVQ Level 2 qualified to ensure that the highest health and safety standards are adhered to. Employees are required to observe safe working practices and we provide information, training and supervision that may be needed for this purpose including site inductions, risk assessments and method statements.

We monitor all of our projects to ensure that health and safety risks are controlled and ensure that we comply with applicable regulations and legislation as a minimum level of achievement, but strive for excellence across all areas. As well as being fully qualified and trained in the products they are handling, all of our fitters are fully insured and first aid trained minimising any potential safety risks on site.

We are members of the CFA (Contract Flooring Association) which promotes the highest standards of professionalism, safety and training within our industry.

Our Health and Safety Policy Statement

It is our policy to provide and maintain safe and healthy working conditions, equipment and systems of work for all our employees, and others who may be affected by our activities as far as is reasonably practicable. We fully accept our responsibilities as outlined in the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and recognise that these legal requirements represent the minimum level of requirement, so we will strive to ensure that higher standards are reached.

Employees will be required, as a condition of employment, to observe safe working practices and co-operate with management in carrying out this policy. We will provide such information, training and supervision that may be required for this purpose. We recognise the important contribution that a good safety performance can make to the overall performance of the company and its clients by reducing injuries to ill health, protecting the environment and reducing unnecessary losses.

Our Terms and Conditions

Door/plinths:

Should doors/plinths require cutting to accommodate new floor covering we advise that the consumer arrange for them to be cut prior to installation. Premier Flooring can cut doors/plinths at an additional charge but cannot accept responsibility for any chipping of paint or veneers, as no amount of care by the operative can avoid this in certain circumstances.

Appliances:

We strongly advise that all appliances are disconnected and removed prior to installation. We can move these items for an additional cost but due to the increasing complexity of these devices Premier Flooring cannot accept responsibility for damaged caused by moving, disconnecting or reconnecting such appliances. I.e. Kitchen appliances, TV’s, HiFi’s, home cinemas, computers, computers etc.

Guarantees:

Due to a number of variables carpets may “relax” in the first few weeks following installation and may require a re-stretch which will be carried out at no additional cost. We give a one year guarantee on all installation work.

Product related info:

All carpet measurements are subject to a tolerance of + or – 1.25% in accordance with BS3665. Shading, tracking, pilling and Berber effects are related to various types of carpeting. Carpet joins will be fitted to industry standards but they will always be visible.

Carpet pile:

You are advised that all carpets may show shading/pile reversal – this is not a manufacturing fault. Pleae ask a member of staff regarding maintenance and advice on this matter

Cancellations:

Cancelled fitting dates with less than 3 working days notice will incur a charge, please speak to a member of staff regarding fitting charges

Installation:

It is expected that the areas to be installed will be clear of the original floor covering & any furniture. It should also be ready to receive the new flooring. If requested Premier Flooring can uplift &remove the original flooring at an additional cost.

The consumer is responsible for the condition of the sub-floor; Premier Flooring may be able to attend to this at an additional cost. Unforeseen subfloor issues can occur despite measuring & surveying. It is assumed that all subfloors will be dry and sound.

The position of wiring and pipe work must be brought to the attention of the installer. Premier Flooring cannot be held responsible for the accidental damage to either the pipes or cables as a consequence of failure on the consumer’s part in this respect.
